This is a topic where we post images of iconic movies from the 2000s or discuss plain 2000s movies. Some I can list off the top of my head, Friday, Harry Potter, The Fast & The Furious, Shrek 1-2, How High, Romeo Must Die, Friday After Next, Lord of The Rings, The Ring, All About The Benjamins, 8 Mile, Queen of The Damned, Spiderman trilogy, Drumline, Freddy Vs. Jason, Underworld, Scary Movie 1-2-3-4, Kangaroo Jack, Finding Nemo, Kung Fu Hustle, White Chicks, Blade Trinity, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Coach Cater, ATL, Little Man, Get Rich Or Die Tryin', Inside Man, 300, Transformers 1-2, Alvin And The Chipmunks, Notorious, Hancock, Kung Fu Panda.
The 2000s movie I have been really enjoying the most is as of recent is Blade Trinity. It gets a lot of hate, but has great scenery, aesthetic and a fun dark under tune.
What movies from the 2000s do you still remember? Post or discuss your memories here.

I used to love the movie Norbit lol. That type of movie could never be released today. It looks similar to Big Momma's House, another 2000s trilogy. I don't know why I recall never seeing it. Then again tho, this is coming from someone who totally forgot to list the Spongebob 2004 movie. Haha I don't need a reminder on how big it was.

As I'm posting this, the 2000s is seeming to be the parody decade, parodies really seemed to peak in the 00s. The Comebacks and especially Meet The Spartans is one of many parody movies then that felt like spam, not in a bad way, but popular way. I have more of a guilty pleasure for Meet The Spartans tho.

The 2000s easily had the best animated films and dare I say comedy too. I don't think we need an explanation to why the 2000s were the best for animation but, here is a list of some pretty solid ones that came out during the decade, Shrek, Monsters Inc., Ice Age, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Shrek 2, The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, Cars, Ratatouille, The Simpsons Movie, Kung Fu Panda, WALL-E, Bolt, Up, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Princess and the Frog and more. Even though there was crappy comedy movies in the 2000s such as the Disaster Movie and the Epic Movie, there were some pretty solid comedies too such as Zoolanders, Ali G Indahouse, Elf, Mean Girls, Shaun of the Dead, Anchorman, Team America, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Wedding Crashers, Borat, Hot Fuzz, Superbad, Blades of Glory, Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, The Hangover, Zombieland and more that I missed out.

I def agree with comedy, but animation is always improving, animated movies in the 00s does feel more "natural" tho. Since you listed Zombieland, Dawn of The Dead has to be one of the most quintessential horror movies of the 2000s. Saw is also undeniably a 2000s highlight of the same genre, but barely noticeable. Kill Bill is peak 2000s edgy culture, I honestly can't sit through it. Haha

I agree with the animated movies. Most people forget about Dreamworks old catalog like The Road to El Dorado, Spirit, Prince of Egypt and dare I say Sinbad even though that bombed at the box office and caused Dreamworks to go computer animated rather than traditional. As for Disney, it was an underrated time, but we got some great movies from them like Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Lilo & Stitch, Atlantis & Emperor’s New Groove. As for comedy, it’s half and half. Movies like Mean Girls and 40 Year Old Virgin are classic 2000s comedy movies. But some like Scary Movie or Bad Santa are just pure garbage. I feel like 2000s comedy movies can be a little bit corny sometimes.

I think there were a lot of lackluster movies in the 2000s especially when it comes to poor quality remakes, excessive or poor use of cgi animation and mediocre horror movies. I prefer the organic and realistic animations and special effects of the 90s including some of 1998-1999 period and the darker and edgier film topics in movies from the early to mid 90s
I do think a lot of great of documentaries were better in the 2000s and there is a lot more diverse and cutting edge independent film that previous decades didn’t have.
Also a good number of early 2000s films had a vague 90s feel and spirit that was lost later on. A lot of really great films and soundtracks came out of that era compared to 2005 to the present.
Personally I think films started getting really improving in the second half the 2010s despite some massive epic fails and some annoying trends.

The 2000s has some of the most innovative horror like Final Destination. I like how after the Ring or Saw, there is still room for speculation since those horror have complex plots.

There was a lot of good comedies but, there were a lot I couldn't stand either. Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Date Movie, The Love Guru, Meet the Spartans, Gigli (terrible, absolutely terrible) and soooo much more. 2000s movies from every category can be quite corny too lol, maybe it's the overuse of poor CGI? Recently, I tried watching the first Fast and Furious with my younger brother (because we liked the movie when we were kids) but, it came off as so cheesy and ridiculous to the point when we were just laughing hysterically through the whole film lmao.

I tried and def can't get into the Fast and The furious franchise either, I just don't see the point in it. It has pleasant nostalgia tho. An example of a 00s movie with quality CGI is I Am Legend. The Spiderman trilogy in the 2000s has good CGI, Transformers, etc. The 00s is undeniably the decade of corny, but a lot of innovative gems released then. If you just pay attention to the 2000s gems in movies, the 00s was a special time, bruh.

I think with the 2000s and I know this sounds cliche as F lol but it is a " You had to been there decade" it is a decade that is most appreciated while living in real time esp early and mid 2000s. I was reading a post on reddit a few days ago where someone who has no memory of 2001 - 2003 talking about " I don't get what the big deal was" its one of those things where you " had to been there" Kind of like going on a Rollercoaster with you friends and you are all having fun "you had to been there to get it " Seeing Spider-man 1 and 2 when it first came out, it had a "different " kind of magic then what a Avengers End game had, it is hard to describe but it just felt..........more pop culture more in your face.

Friday After Next, Scary Movie 3 and Soul Plane are my go to 2000s comedy movies. I feel like these are even my go to 2000s movies in general sometimes.
