Back to School Week Fall 2001 - A reflection

I started 6th grade that year. I was dreading it.

I wasn’t able to watch Nick CN or MTV because this was a time both my parents didn’t have cable at their houses and I mostly just watched whatever looked interesting on those 6 channels. No YouTube. No Smartphones. No iPads. No digital sub channels. No streaming Shows of any kind. Dark times. I remember when the Lawrence Welk or Guy Lombardo show would come on PBS, I would mute the sound and play top 40 music so it looked like the people were dancing and singing to rap/pop/rock songs and I would be slightly amused by it. That’s how bored I was back then!

One thing I specifically remember that year people were news reports about students dress codes.
Does anybody remember those “Boys lie” or “Boys Cheat” shirts girls wore back then?
