A spin off on @sharksfan99 thread of the same vibe, this is a feature called back to school week where I chronicle

the energy,sights and sounds going into a new school year. Grab a snack and sit back and relax because it's time for Fall 1996.

Back to school week : August 28th 1996 - September 3 1996
Grade : 3

- AH Nintendo 64 billboards everywhere, Super Mario 64 looks SICK!!!!!!!
- Tupac this Tupac that tons of interviews on MTV
- Commercials on TGIF for Boy meets World keep airing every 5 seconds, Eric is going on a road trip
- What is this new Sabrina show that is coming ?
- my friend Kevin throws a computer at the window and it breaks
- a homeless man jumps off my apartment balcony and into a huge container of fruit
- Keep seeing Bob Dole ads on TV please stop
- AOL commercials on tv 24/7 YOU GOT MAIL motherfker
- Austin 316 says I just whooped YOUR ASS
- OMG THAT TOMB RAIDER DEMO LOOKS SO COOL I want a Playstation
- OMG Tekken 2 Demo looks so cool @ the store I want a Playstation
- I throw my Game Gear at the wall and it shatters into pieces
- " aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayeeeeeeeeee Macarena"
- Jason is back on Power Rangers WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Too bad I stopped watching to care
- LMAO Ninja Turtles is getting dark AF LORD DREGG hold my beer lol
- A kid in my class gets a fake bat and starts hitting the teacher in the head and gets expelled
- I learn how to plant
- Someone stabs himself with pencils and class
- MTV keeps playing this music video

- Mortal KOMBAT 3 on SNES is giving me life
- A girl in my class throw a stapler at teacher
- OMG TNT stop playing the same movies
- HAHAHAHA LEGOS SUCK
- OMG WHO BROKE THE TEACHERS DESK IN CLASS
- I keep seeing SHINY DRESSES in the magazines !
- PEPSI TASTE REALLY GOOD THO

Newer generations don’t realize just how obsessed and excited we were waiting for 3d and playing these it especially during 1996-1997 period. I don’t think any other transition can come close until like virtual reality becomes real

Whats weird is that vibe went away by like 1998 when it wasn’t only about the graphics

it was UNREAL playing Super mario 64 and Tekken 2 for the first time.

Remember when this ad aired in 1996 during The Simpsons

even the commercials had u hyped because it was 3D!

Yeah nothing has come close to feeling ever since in gaming. Every person who had the latest or most 3d games was the person you would want to hang out with even if they weren’t the best people lol.

In 1995 and 1996 it felt like the year 1999 or 2000 would be like some futuristic society and 3d games were like a sample of what was to come

I will never forget playing Super Mario 64 for the first time in Toys R Us it was U N R E A L
