2009 is often regarded as the first full year of electropop, but it still had a lot of 2000's leftovers. What songs from 2009 do you think sound more like 2007 vs. 2011? This is how I see it. Feel free to disagree. 2009 songs that sound closer to 2007: - Fire Burning

"Empire State of Mind" is literally the most 2000s song of the entire post, why is it closer to 2011? How is it different from songs like "Umbrella" or "No One"?
On the other hand, "Good Girls Go Bad" in the 2007 section is even more confusing. Stylistically it is completely undestinguishable from most songs in 2011, why would it belong in 2007?
And infinity made a good point the other day, "Boom Boom Pow" is much closer to Fergie's own "Fergalicious" than anything the BEP released in the early '10s.
I disagree with "Hotel Room Service" because it relies entirely on a 1992 sample and could have easily been made in 2007.
