Oh boy, I miss this year so much. 2016 was an exceptional year for music. Can we talk about all the outstanding music that came out that year? You can't talk about 2016 without these songs.

2016 wasn't a good year in terms of my personal life, but it was easily one of the best years for music of the 2010s. I think it's even a better year for music than 2012. It was one of the best years for pop and hip-hop music. These are just some of the songs that I liked: {Spoiler}

^^^ I loved those songs too! PILLOWTALK was one of the most incredible songs to come out of 2016. I completely forgot about For Free. My boyfriend used to play that song all summer 2016.

I'm not a huge fan of 2016's pop, but there were some bops I enjoyed like "Broccoli", "Black Beatles", "24k Magic", "Needed Me", "Cheap Thrills", "Sorry", "Ride" and "Heathens". It was also a great time for albums like Lemonade, Blonde, Blackstar, etc.

It was also a great time for albums like Lemonade, Blonde, Blackstar, etc. It was indeed a very solid year for albums, that's for sure. But for the charts, looking back late 2015 to early 2018 were sort of a dark age with 2016 being the pits of that.

Quite easily the second worst year for chart music during my lifetime. The music that was on the charts that year felt so stale and there was even less of a variety than what there had been in 2015. It was awful. There's very few songs from 2016 which I would say I genuinely like.

I’ve never understood the hype for music of 2016. I much prefer 2013 and 2015.

It wasn't just a good year for mainstream music in the US but also it was a good year for the arab music industry. When I visited bahrain in summer 2016 I heard this song everywhere on the radio
