I was 2 during this time. My earliest memories I ever had was somewhere around this time. The pop culture in 2001 was one of the best years of the last 20 years. Especially by the fall, the pop music scene was unbelievable. Britney, *NSYNC, Destiny's Child, MJ, Janet, P!nk, Shakira, JLO, Ja Rule, Nelly(both rapper and singer), Michelle Branch, Alicia Keys, Usher, No Doubt and more... Everything was new, exciting, and eccentric. If only I was a little bit older to really remember that time period.

I was also two. I've only got one vague memory from this month and that was of unwrapping this huge stack of Thomas the Tank Engine VHS tapes at my Dad's house on Christmas Day.

I was 3 around the time and I remembered going on a cruise to Mexico. I remembered swimming in the kiddie pool and beaches.

Trust me as someone in 8th grade it was 1# top 10, if it was not for 9/11 this year would be rated higher by people. This period you see I call it "brave new world feeling" everything felt like a rollercoaster ride, even the movies at this time.

I also have to add, MTV & MTV 2 in the morning were THE SOUNDTRACK to this year, I honestly think the vibe of December and Fall furthermore would have felt different if not for all this new exciting music.

Let’s see...December 2001...
This was during that time period where I really hated school and had to go to my great aunt’s house in the mornings (which I hated) because my mom had to work and couldn’t take me.
I was still stuck with six channels on TV except when I went to my grandma’s which she had DirecTV since October of that year and I religiously watched Game Show Network.
I saw the movie Joe Somebody in the theater a Tim Allen movie that nobody remembers.
My dad bought the Ronco rotisserie over (you know, “set it and forget it?”) and used it only once!

I probably spent most of that month playing Grand Theft Auto III and playing system link/split screen multiplayer on Halo with friends lol.
