This was something I was thinking about earlier. The vast majority of the mumble-rappers on Soundcloud are people who are currently in their late teens or early 20s. Lil Mosey had a hit earlier this year with "Blueberry Faygo" and he was only born in 2002. Then, of course, one of the biggest names in music right now is Billie Eilish and she is still only 18 years old. It isn't unreasonable for anyone born within the first-half of the noughties to be putting out music now, but given the fall in cultural relevancy of the genre over the past decade and the fact that the current generation of teens never grew up with it while it was still relevant, trying to discover new rock bands made up of members under the age of 25 is no easy task. These are the only young rock artists I am familiar with: Yungblud was born in 1997. I know he has also dabbled in hip-hop with some of his releases, however I would still consider him to be a rock artist overall. I only discovered this band a few days ago; they're an all-female Australian grunge/punk group from Queensland. The vocalist and lead guitarist are actually the exact same age as me, they formed the band in 2015 when they were 15/16 years old. Why couldn't they have went to the same school as me, I would have loved it if there was a girl in my grade who was a huge fan of alt-rock/grunge. There's also Shawn Mendes (if you consider him to be a pop-rock artist), he was born in 1998. I would be interested in discovering more young rock artists/bands. I'm sure there would be lots more out there, but like I mentioned earlier, it's no easy feat trying to find them. I have yet to discover a rock artist or band made up of members born in the early 2000s. VOIID is the youngest rock band I am personally aware of and they would have been born in 1999/2000. Do you know of any young rock artists or bands?

2020 was a pisspoor year for new rock talents to shine through honestly, even with people keeping up with the underground. But I'm still gonna share my finds!
King Princess (b. 1998), the new queen of blues rock IMO:
KennyHoopla (b. 1997), has a unique vocal style and seems very inspired by the 2000s indie scene:
Beabadobee (b. 2000), cool zoomer alt. rock:
Declan McKenna (b. 1998), offers some very solid indie-pop/rock:
Soccer Mommy (b. 1997), discovered her last year but she makes some very sweet rock music:
^Very underrated

I'll have a listen to them later. That's interesting, I never knew King Princess released blues rock material. I've known about her since her song "1950" (which is one of my favourite songs from 2018) was released two years ago, but it's more of an indie-pop/soul song and I just had the impression that was the only style of music she released. Mind you, I haven't actually listened to any of her other songs before. Will definitely have to check it out! In any case, it's interesting to see that there's a lot of new rock artists who were born c. 1997-2000. At least people around our age are trying to keep rock alive.

I don't know how many of you follow Eurovision, but apparently the members of Måneskin (the winners of this year's Eurovision contest) are only in their early 20s. The lead singer was born the same year as me (1999), while the other members were born in 2000/01. I love the fact that they specifically stated at the end of their performance that "rock 'n roll will never die". Good to see that us Zillennials are helping to keep rock alive.
