Does this song sound more mid 90s or late 90s? Anywhere from mid 1996 to mid 1997. It was released in march 97 but remember the song being big until summer 1998. The hip hop sound associated with the mid 90s was still going strong especially in the first half of the late 90s despite a lot of new sounds/styles surfacing and getting popular at the time, that sound started to gradually decrease through late 97 onwards.
