I thought this would be an interesting idea for a topic. When you were growing up, what job did you want to have as an adult? When I was younger, I wanted to get into council and become a town planner. SimCity 4 has been one of my favourite games for a long time and I've always had an interest in council projects and general construction projects (new roads, apartments etc.). Even in my spare time today, I read council documents to see if there's anything that is proposed for my area.
However, when I became a teenager, I soon realised that I would need to study law and that put me off from pursuing it as a career. I would still like to get a job at council, but not as a town planner.

When I got my very first dog in Christmas of 2010, I wanted to become a vet and help take care of animals.

Funny you should say that, becasue I have applied to do an Urban Planning degree at University starting next year (that's one of 3 options for me lol)

You don't need to go to law school to be an urban planner. When I was really young, I wanted be a shopkeeper because I was good at math Then during my older kid years, my parents convinced me to try to be an air pilot. Sometime during my teen years I decided I wanted to be a graphic designer. Then the Great Recession came and everyone around me pressured to go into STEM. In my latter teen years, my parents convinced to try become a medical doctor. However the requirements were too much for me. One thing I appreciate about the aimless goal is that it made me a science whiz, since I took AP courses in all the main sciences. In my early university years, I wanted to be a nuclear physicist and majored in Physics. Sometime around 3rd year I became a bit demoralized as the rigour of the courses picked up. It was also around the time the Japanese Fukushima disaster was in the news, Germany announced it was phasing out nuclear, and here in Ontario we had the anti-science left rallying towards phasing out nuclear, which is all a real shame since I personally still think nuclear energy is the solution to climate change and fulfilling our energy needs. Then I learnt some computer programming on my own, and it became a huge hobby of mine and I decided that's what I wanted to do. Physics gave me a good statistical background, and Computer Science gave me the programming knowledge to give me the job I have today as a data scientist/engineer. Funny thing, as a 5 year old I wanted to be a shopkeeper because I was obsessed with math. Now as a 25 year old, we do a lot of contract work for stores and other sales agencies and I get to analyze and set up their sales tracking data. Aim for the moon and land among the stars eh I'm still not finished though. I want to get a Masters and maybe a PhD in Computer Science. I'm fascinated by the world of artificial intelligence and automation, and I think my background in statistical analysis can help me contribute a lot to the field. (A part of me still wants to be a nuclear physicist since 4th year Physics was jaw-droppingly FASCINATING, but I only have one life to live eh. Tough )

I always wanted to be a voice actor as a kid, I still would I love to be one now to be honest. Since watching a lot of cartoons growing up I always admired the people voicing characters and giving it your all.
Other stuff I pretty much gave up as a teen though was a friaght train conducter, a TV executive and an owner of an apartment for some reason :/

I just wanted to be a footballer or failing that, a sports commentator. Bruce McAvaney was my idol. Still is.

I wanted to be an artist, a computer engineer and a comedian. I still want to become those professions though, and I'm kind of already an amateur artist.

First, I wanted to be a video game designer. Around the time I was 10, I wanted to be a YouTuber (who could live of AdSense). Now, I'm in the Culinary pathway at my high school and I'm switching over to engineering here pretty soon.

I had various professions I dreamt of doing when I was younger (as you mostly do). Firstly, there was a teacher (for PE), then later a personal trainer, then a football player. I also had thoughts of getting into the gaming industry or IT at one stage too.
