The past few days, I have been watching a lot of the music videos of the early 2000s, and I noticed one thing different about the current music videos vs 00s music videos. One thing for sure is that the videos nowadays are shot digitally vs back then when majority of the videos was shot on film. 00s MV's aspect ratio was on SD, Now it's UHD & 4K. Another thing that caught my attention is that the 2000s MV's for the most part had that colorful, flashiness, eccentric, fun vibe that is completely missing in MV's of today. Majority of the videos nowadays has that depressing, monodramatic, very serious look. I miss when MV's had a dreamy feel to them. Ill give you guys examples of what I am saying.
Music Videos of the 00s:

Does anybody agree with the statement?

Early to mid 2000s videos had a green tint to them, about 70% of music videos in the 2000s had this look y2kbaby For some reason it was a huge trend lol it stuck out in the morning when MTV or Vh1 would show a video and u half wake and the green smacks u in the face

I do agree, music videos back then seemed to be a lot brighter. Kpop is still really bright and colorful, though. The music videos lately have a very moody, dark vibe, with a lot of that magenta and blue hue. I like both personally. Obviously the production quality is way better now than in the early 2000s. I think both bring different moods and it really depends what emotions you want to feel.

I feel like it’s like that today but with purple, magenta, and blue hues.

I feel like it’s like that today but with purple, magenta, and blue hues. Pretty Much, here are some more " GREEN" tint videos, I guess the directors thought at the time it looked edgy making the blues green and the yellows pop

I get you. JordanK, a user on InThe00s pointed this out. Music videos in the earlier 2000s, more specifically had a bright color shade. Music videos looked late morning/early evening back then and light mood.

Like the sky outside was the same color as the music video colors you were seeing on tv. and it was always at a low volume because you didn't wanna wake anyone up lol There were tons of VH1 videos I remember just seeing the green sky and looking outside and it had that same DEW look

You know I noticed in some of the 2000s music videos (mainly from 2000-2004) they had the morph effect which usually occurred when switching scenes like the late 90's music videos did, but after that it was retired.

That's interesting. Can you list the music videos of that time that used the morph effect technique?

Something I've observed when I have watched music videos from the mid-late 2000s is that many of them were bright and glossy, the lens flare effect was used quite a lot back then:
