I talked about this on another Discord server I’m in, and thought it’d be a good thread to make.
I actually don’t have a lot of friends that are older than me. My oldest friend is only nine months older than me, yet my youngest friend is three years younger. The vast majority of my friends tend to be in the HS C/O 2020 and 2021. I honestly related a lot more to the C/O 2021 than the C/O 2019 despite the same age difference. I legit didn’t have any friends that were in the Classes of 2017, 2018, and 2019, yet I had quite a lot from my class, 2021, 2022, and even 2023.

The four friends who I have continued to maintain contact with after school are all younger than me. One of them is only two weeks younger, but the others are five, ten and fourteen months younger than me. The main reason for that is because I was one of the oldest people in my grade, so the majority of the people I befriended during my time in school were all younger. I have had friends in the past though who have been up to two years older (1997) or two years younger (2001) than me as well.

Its a bit weird being born on opposite ends of the cutoff because I am in the same grade with people almost 12 months younger than me but a different grade from people 1 month older. If you were born 1 month later and if I was born 1 month earlier I would be 2 grades above you

Almost all of my friends are older than me. Especially in my graduating class since my birthday is later in the school year. I only know a few people who are class of 2020, and nobody beyond that.

I took a year break between high school and university, so most my friends from K-12 are older/same age as me, but the ones from university are usually younger. I hang out with the latter more so I would say younger.
My oldest friend might be my ex-coworker born 1984, but it's been a while since I talked to him. Youngest is 1997.

Most of the friends I've met were younger than me though I had some that were older. The oldest is around 1997 while the youngest is 2002. Haven't had any friends born in 2003 or beyond that. As far as friends born the same year as me, there's been a decent amount. I would say 2001 is the common year that I have friends born in with my birth year being a close second.

It's pretty 50/50, most my friends are born the same year as me and then the rest of them are born the year before and the year after.

Around the same age, I'd say its mostly a 2-3 yr difference so mostly they're older. Kind of an interesting thing to realize after thinning my friends list.

Younger. Most of my friends are 2003-2005 borns (I was born in April 2003). I do have a few born in 2002 and 2006 though.
