Any year is better to look back at than living in 2020.

Any year is better to look back at than living in 2020. Lets just hope that 2021 is a better year. I'm not a fan of 2020 but, I'm still going to stay optimistic about the future, it would be pretty hard for any other year to top how crappy 2020 has been anyway.

I’m quite pessimistic about the election. You know who will probably still win again just because 2020 is a total dumpster fire so of course why not. 🙄 This is the year of Murphy’s Law. I hope it doesn’t happen but we’ll see how I feel on November 4th. Maybe I’ll start feeling optimistic. 🤷

He will do anything to stay in power (that's the only way he stays out of prison) and his supporters are willing and ready to burn the entire country down if that's what it takes to "reclaim America for Christ." We're headed into a very dangerous time. I'm cautiously optimistic about 2021 should Biden win this election and should there be a peaceful transition of power. I think the first half of 2021 is going to suck but hopefully by next fall, there will be a vaccine and some sense of normal can begin to return.

Whilst I agree, I feel like I'm pulled into the situation of me feeling angry about how things still aren't normal.
I know, I overestimated about how things shouldve went back to normal in my province soon, but its just sad to see how this is the reality. At first, quarantine didn't really hit me hard, but now it does especially there are 5 cases of Covid-19 in my school, and were back to quarantine for 3 weeks. Even at school, I am feeling very nostalgic about the Early and Mid 2010s and how fun and optimistic things were, compared to today where coachella is postponed, cinemas are closed, fairs and carnivals are postponed, its social distancing that's a nightmare for me.
Doing this only made me compare the past to today, it can be 1 year ago, 5 years ago, 20 years ago, anything, but that only pisses me off especially Ive been expecting too much from it... A lot of people are in this situation comparing 2016 to 2020. However, we all know this isn't gonna last, and we are optimistic that the vaccine is gonna be made no matter how long it takes, but that's the other problem, do we really have to wait until Fall 2021? Its hard to not feel nostalgic due to the lack of environmental variety being locked at home.

Its hard to not feel nostalgic due to the lack of environmental variety being locked at home. I agree with this, but unfortunately I think that Fall 2021 is the earliest realistic scenario. More than likely, we are looking at 2-3 years before lockdown truly ends and then over a decade before the economy comes back. We won't have a year like 2019 again until at least 2035. That's how bad this is. I know it's pessimistic, but this is probably the second worst disaster to happen in the US in it's entire history, with only the Civil War being worse. But after seven months locked in my home, alone, with my only human interaction being 100 calls per day of people yelling at me (I work for a call center), I feel like I'm losing my mind. I'm terrified about having to do this until 2022 or 2023 but I'm not going to have a choice. I should have lived my life in the 2010s. That was my chance.
