A PlayStation 2 for $399 plus a Xtra pack (PS2 DVD remote, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 game, 3 Blockbuster Rental Vouchers and a Magazine) from Harvey Norman is a pretty good deal back in the day!

Sega World Sydney 'First Birthday' ad from 1998. Nice! Would have been great to visit Sega World in Australia at least once back in the day. Seeing as it closed in late 2000 and demolished in 2008 (and being too young at the time for @zampakid and SharksFan99 ), I assume @sydneycitytv never visited it either?

I assume @sydneycitytv never visited it either? I probably would've been a little too young for Sega World when it was open, although the price of admission wasn't cheap back then in any case! As per Wikipedia, the only major tenant of the Darling Walk complex (where Sega World was located) in the years immediately prior to demolition was a McDonalds restaurant...although no major loss with there still being a number of Maccas outlets in/around the Sydney CBD as it is!

Just saw the Angel Flight ad, which was made probably around 2005-2006, and it is still in 4:3!

Fair enough If I grew up and lived in Sydney I might’ve just been able to visit before it closed down in 2000 (I would’ve just been old enough at 7-8 years). Although, in saying that with how expensive it was maybe not as my parents wouldn’t have been able to afford it back then. Oh well.

Many commercials were still produced in 4.3 until as recently as 2009, if my memory serves me correctly. Regardless, it definitely wasn't uncommon to see 4.3 commercials air on TV just a little over a decade ago. The Foxtel channels only converted to 16.9 widescreen back in 2008.

I wonder if SharksFan99 and @zampakid remember seeing ads (which definitely fit into the "Bad Local Ads" category) for Cheap Doors and Computer Town Australia (Check out the prices for the Home Entertainment setup! ) on Illawarra TV as a kid... Thanks to "Aussie VHS Archive" on YouTube for the clips.

Funnily enough, my Dad has bought a computer set up from Computer Town Australia (this was back in 2003 until he switched to Apple in 2010).
