If there were a stereotypical movie about the 2010s, what year do you think it should take place in?

I don't know about "should," but it definitely would take place some time between 2014 and 2016. The mid-2010s may not have lasted very long, but I do think that era in pop culture and politics are what the decade will be remembered for.

2016 was such an iconic year, for better or for worse.

2016 was peak 2010s culture. Vine, Snapchat, Instagram, trap, EDM, "dank" memes, dabbing, heated political divisions, etc.

2016 feels like a 2010s parody, so I guess future movies will do that setting.
