Was anybody here an early adopter when Netflix launched its streaming service in Mid-2007? I was.
Does anybody remember there were no tv apps for Netflix streaming for the 1st year or so and you had to go to a computer to watch it?
I also got one of the very first Roku players when they came out and the only apps on it were Amazon and Netflix. Nothing else.
And not to mention, if you wanted to watch a title you still couldn’t search it on your Roku. You had to go to the Netflix site, add the movie to your instant watch queue, and wait for whatever you wanted to watch pop up on screen.
this video is EXACTLY how I remembered it.
Not to mention you didn’t have the selection you do today. It was mostly older B-Movies/ grindhouse schlock (which I didn’t mind. I miss being able to see a Herschell Gordon Lewis film on Netflix streaming) , Indie movies and documentaries, or box office bombs.
So anybody who had Netflix streaming from its start: do any of these memories ring a bell about what Netflix was like in 2007-2009?

Sorta, it was very different than it is today. You were better off just renting a DVD from Netflix due to how much streaming sucked back then. Netflix never really worked the way it does today until late 2010 and I don't think it became popular until 2012ish (after the service tried to rebound back up after financial issues).
Edit: I edited this post a bit because I mistaken Netflix for a different website.
