When I moved to the US as a young kid back in 2007 the US was seen as the land of freedom and opportunity. When obama won in 2008 I felt prouder than ever before to live in america. I can't tell you how inspiring it was for me as a black kid who couldn't speak fluent english yet. Nowadays the US is more divided these days and everything has regressed. I feel bad for young black kids these days growing up with a racist president and all these protests going on I really do feel like people our age were kinda like the last to grow up in a decent cultural era. At least as of right now. Not to sound like an elitist or ageist, and I'm likely very biased, but I don't remember things being this divided when we were in our childhood. Obviously there was some division, but can you really say it was as bad as now? Like I feel like when we were kids politics was something only adults talked about. It seems like kids nowadays are learning about it at a younger age due to the increased awareness in police brutality and racism (which isn't necessarily a bad thing per se, but the president definitely isn't helping at all). I can't imagine being six years old in 2020. Let me tell you if this craziness was happening in 2006 before I moved here my family would've stayed back in bahrain. Thats how bad it is

That's not even teen age yet, but politically they're like a million universes apart. 2008 may as well be more like 1996 when it comes to politics. That's how much I feel like it has changed.

The irony is strong with this one.
I'm honestly quite worried about Joe Biden's health now. Trump's known to splutter while being petulant during debates. He should be careful.

What's happens if the President dies from this virus or becomes too sick to do his job? Who takes over?

This is definitely a year that won't be forgotten. Yeah, imagine history teachers talking about the year 2020 in class lol For real, though. Realistically it wouldn’t be enough to make a whole class, but I can totally see history classes dedicated to 2000-2020. Heck, even 2010-2020 would be enough to make a whole class. Actually now that I think about it, whatever history class there is gonna be, it’s not gonna end at 2020. That’s like ending a movie right in the middle of the climax. I’m so curious about what will be taught in the future, from which perspective. I wonder if there will be clear winners and losers, people who are on the right side of history and the wrong side of history.

In an optimistic scenario, 2020-2035ish is going to be defined by the recovery from the Trump years. The class would need to go back to 1980 though. To get to Trump, you have to start with Ronald Reagan, Jerry Falwell, and the "Moral Majority."
