Basically just like the other thread. Which year for music do you prefer?
I prefer 2009 over 2019, to be honest. That's not to say 2019 didn't have good music, but IMO I just liked 2009 slightly more.

Probably 2009, it felt like such a new fresh breathe of air at the time, even though I think it's a little bit more 00s still. 2019 on the otherhand was very generic and sounded exactly the same as the stuff from 2017.

I think this thread should go in the music section, otherwise the poll section will be flooded with questions like this. __________________________
As to answer this thread's question, I personally think that 2009 was a pretty terrible time for the charts, overflooded with amateurish sounding and shoddily produced stuff. It might have been electropop's first foray into the charts, but boy could the early stuff be ugly at times. Growing pains huh It still a worthwhile year for seeing Lady Gaga's blossoming pop persona at the very least, so it's not the absolute worst year of all-time either.
2019 wasn't anything special but I still consider it a fairly solid year for the most part. Decent amount of solid pop and trap, without suffering from the huge inconsistency of 2018.

2009 because I miss the presence of realer r&b and Timbaland, but 2020 has some rap quality.

2009 music seemed more original even if it wasn't the best or most preferred type of music. I also like the independent music scene in general from around then. It had more to offer imo.

I prefer the mainstream music of 2009. I believe the year alone was not only great, but also a lot of fresh new sounds and new faces that will later on become very successful in their careers(Lady Gaga, Bieber, Ke$ha, Pitbull etc..). I wasn't a big fan of the 1st half of that year, however by the summer towards the end of 2009, the pop music scene was so good. The music of the 2nd half of 2009 is very nostalgic to me.
That does not mean that the pop music of 2019 was bad, I think the music of that year is best of the late 10s. I enjoyed the music of 2019. Just not as much as 2009 for me.

2009 was rocks and diamonds (mostly rocks, tbh), but I still prefer it over 2019 as a whole.
