1930s: Were just a dystopia for like 80% of the population, not to mention the Holocaust The 60s - the racial and social segregation, missle fears, also TV animation starts going down the toilet around the end of the decade 2018-2019 - not gonna pretend like these years were even tolerable culturally or politically. I mean obviously they're still better than 2020 but that's not saying anything... 2020 - obvious reasons

Probably the 1910s, worst decade of the 20th century for so many reasons. The Red Summer, WWI, Revival of KKK, Woodrow Wilson, the music was like a bad ripoff of 1900s music, the first red scare, the Spanish Flu and the list goes on and on. The only good thing that the 1910s did was end and the very rapid advancement of technology (along with the 1900s). Overall, the 1910s are the only decade that truly disgusts me in the 20th century, some other decades come close though. Agreed, at least the 1930s and 40s had good culture and good presidents. The 1910s had Woodrow Wilson and virtually ZERO memorable culture. It's probably my least favorite decade like, ever, in American history, if somebody asked me what the worst decade was, not the 2000s, not the 2010s, not even the 1860s, but the 1910s was AWFUL. Hell, it might be one of the worst decades in modern history, and I'm talking from the 15th century onward. It's THAT bad. I kid you not, the only good thing to come out of the 1910s was the fucking Dada movement, which would go on to birth surrealism. I'm not shitting when I say it's the only thing of worth the 1910s brought to the table. Everything else was pain, suffering, and bigotry.

This one, but the 1940s were far more horrific.

IMO, 1919 specifically is arguably (and probably) the worst year in modern history.

I mean I would say the rise of women rights, the invention of jazz and hand drawn animation, and the several technological breakthroughs that came with the war are pretty major events. The 20th century as a whole was more or less shaped by the 1910s when you think of it. It truly broke society from the 19th century towards the modern age.

Eras that Disgust Me (in chronological order): 1) March 2004-June 2004 for personal reasons. Pop culture was great. 2) July 2005-June 2006. Same as #1. 3) October 2007-March 2008 for personal and pop cultural reasons. 4) July 2008-August 14, 2010. Same as #3. 5) December 2011-August 14, 2012 for personal reasons. 6) June 2013-September 2013. Same as #5. 7) 2017-August 2018 for personal and pop cultural reasons. 8) February 2020-now. Same as #7. I always felt that late 2007 to early 2008 was an improved version of 2006-2007 was a bit less toxic than earlier mid 2000s years. what exactly didn’t you like about it ?

I understand where you’re coming from and I respect your opinion. As a kid, I felt like the kid shows, channels like Disney channel, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network declined, became watered down around late 2007-early 2008, thought signs of that may have come as early as late 2005-2006. Classic Disney shows such as Kim Possible, That’s So Raven, American Dragon Jake Long ended. Shows like Hannah Montana took over. I get that teenybopper shows were around in the early 2000s, but it seemed to dominate more in the late 2000s. It just didn’t feel as genuine as the first half of the 2000s. Those channels felt fake, forced and manufactured in the late 2000s. I remember Nick having nothing but Spongebob repeats. I believe Spongebob should’ve ended after the 2004 movie came out because after that, the episodes weren’t nearly as good. In terms of other culture such as music, gaming, fashion, movies, late 2007-early 2008 may have been an improvement over 2006-2007. I remember people saying that 2006 was bland for movies and one of the worst years for 2000s music. Late 2007-early 2008 was more pure late 2000s than 2006-2007. 2006-2007 was either watered down mid 2000s or primitive late 2000s. I think you said 2006-2007 leans mid 2000s. I didn’t pay attention to anything else besides kid culture in the 2000s as I was a kid. I’m now just starting to rediscover 2000s culture as an early 20s something.

Yeah I can understand regarding kids culture and a few things but even then I feel late 07 to 2010 was an improvement compared to 2005-2007 imo. 2006-2007 is kind of an overrated year it wasn’t enough of anything

Sonic 06 and Spider-Man 3 come to mind when thinking of that year honestly.
