So I remember in the 2000s there was a trend to dismiss a lot of horror movies because of cliche and cookie cutter acting and storytelling and cgi.
What are some movies that got a bad rep and are okay decent or just underrated ?
Jason vs Freddy and Texas Chainsaw Massacre come to mind. They weren’t very well received at the time but seem alright in retrospect.
Anything by Troma films from then deserve more credit imo. I recall a lot of old school effects. Thing is a lot of underground horror movies and to lesser extent commerical ones were using some amount of noticeable old school special effects up until 2005 or so, more than later, from what I recall.
