I think so, so many things about this fall make it amazing. Xbox was super popular with HALO 2 coming out, then you had San Andreas. Jojo, Ashlee Simpson and Ryan Cabrera all became house hold names and were SUPER popular for this period of time. In fact Ashlee Simpson got her own TV show ! Lindsay Lohan was posed as the NEW it girl at the time. Eminem also released his final epilogue album of the main Trilogy Encore. Oh and Nintendo DS came out at this time as well !
Laguna Beach had just debuted as well as One Tree Hill ( oh and The WB was on fire right now) E! network was on fire as well with Anna Nicole Smith show. Abc Family was cool you had JETIX aka Fox Kids part 2 and CN you had the GOOD part of Dragon Ball GT with the Shadow Dragon Saga kicking up. The only weak points I could say would be Fall movie season, Resident Evil 2 was good, as well as Grudge and Saw & Shark Tales however stuff like Taxi and Being Julia SUCKED, Wrestling around this time was pretty forgettable not the best LMAO Randy Orton as champion....ehhh
Oh and Myspace and Emo also took off during this time as well !

Honestly I think late 04 and very early 05 is underrated. I think for some reason we only remember the negatives, but it has to be to the best part of the mid 00s and it truly did contain more early 00s holdovers than any other part of the mid 2000s.
Other things about fall 2004:
- Mid 2000s don't feel completely dreadful yet - New tech like social media, ipods etc are exciting to try for the first time - The very start of growing awareness about environmental and related issues and more vocal support against bush - Something feels more innovative about the year - Comedy Central is gold - Cds are most popular in this time than later in the mid 2000s - Arcades were still a bit popular with better variety compared to a year like 2006-2007 - Gameboy Advance still pretty popular and Gamecube not completely dead yet - The very very last traces of nu metal, goth, pop punk and skater culture of the early 2000s. You could even include pop vibes from earlier as well. - Film and documentaries have a more experimental almost 90s quality to them and stand out in this period. - A lot things were filmed in 2003 and early 2004 and released later. Sometimes tv shows and films from time period have early 2000s quality to them.

Everyone by the point hated Bush with the election coming up, I remember Kerry signs everywhere. DDR really did save arcades even if it was on it's last leg. Fashion in 2004 was sTILL very tacky, remember those knit weave hats and those pastel scarfs this fall ? LMAO LIVE STRONG bracelets were EVERYWHEREEEEEE even tho the man was a fraud. oh and DSL was starting to become big, Wifi as well !

I was 5 during this time and starting Kindergarten. 2004 was the first year that I distinct remember from start to finish. It also the first year that I pay attention to pop culture (from sports to movies, shows, music, celebrity culture etc...)

I can also add that the fall of 04( 2004 as a whole and 05 to some extent) was one of the last times where film photography was still used, digital photography was still new to consumers. The movies of 2004 had that old school cinematic feel to it. By 2005 and especially 2006, the visible analog quality in movies was completely gone.

I think late 2004 fashion and tons of things aren't my thing at all and super tacky, but I think some parts of that year are a better in a few ways than other parts of the mid 2000s that are almost totally unbearable imo.

Film > Digital it just looks better more REAL LIFE Yeah it has a warm feeling. They tried to bring back instant polaroids in the early 2010s. Not sure if they still make this stuff. But even slides in schools were still used in 2004.
