There's something about 1999 that has stayed not bad. Like a symbolic climax or something. The early 90's don't just look like a different world to me now but they have for a very long time. Right, the early 90s have been seen as ancient since the late 00s/early 10s It's not the same with the early 00s nowadays for some reaso Its really a mystery why the late 90s just feel dated nowadays and not ancient like the early 90s. The late 70s already felt retro by the late 90s.

The late 70s already felt retro by the late 90s. I think it's because of the video quality and slower technological progression

Right, the early 90s have been seen as ancient since the late 00s/early 10s It's not the same with the early 00s nowadays for some reaso I remember a big batch of 90s things with with the exception of a number of core trends during late 1997/1998, feeling old or almost old. 1996 felt like like at least 3-4 years ago in late 1997 to mid 1998 despite many ongoing trends and late 96 being part of the late 90s. Early 1997 also felt radically different than late. Early 1997, and to some extent mid, felt a worn out version of fall 1996, whereas late 1997 felt like a tiny sample of what would come into full circle in 1998 and 1999, despite not being there.

I know exactly what you mean, by late 97 it had this " We are in the now" "the future is here" 'the tech is here" vibe, it made anything else that came out in the last 2 years look like sh*t Hell even in Mid 97 AFHV did a Full House reunion on TGIF and everyone looked modern lol
