It isn't for me. I search for Indie gems, lesser known. Not necessarily the most mainstream indies.

I'm not sure I would consider Unknown Worlds Entertainment, a company founded by former modders, "mainstream." But hey, you do you.

To be fair, I think that has more to do with streamers like Jacksepticeye promoting the hell out of it than anything. Like, The Forest would likely not have become the open world survival sensation it was if not for every gamer and their grandma posting playthroughs back in the day. Same with Markiplier and FNaF, actually. You get what I mean?

It still became mainstream. Maybe it could have been different if I followed those games when they were less known, felt hidden. Not FNAF tho. F that game.

I like the aesthetic of Ever Forward. I wish I appreciated the puzzle genre sooner, but I'm happy to start with Indie flavored puzzle gems. W/W.

I must say, it does look interesting, although unfortunately I can't run it (Mac). I've never been much of a puzzle game guy myself and point 'n' click adventures are tedious for me, but I'm open to trying a new experience if they ever manage to port the game.

It's possible, lets hold out hope. Many Indie games start on PC and get later ports, Nintendo Switch being the safest.

I think it's trending in the other direction, actually, thanks to Mac just generally being terrible for gaming support. They seem to insist on developers using their engine, which discourages ports because you basically have to remake the game in an entirely new engine. For example, I'm sure you've heard about Apple's conflict with the Epic Game Store.
I'm saving up for a PC because I finally want to play stuff like Grim Dawn. Ever played that one? It's not indie per se, but I love my Diablo-esque hack 'n' slashes, especially the ones in the spirit of the original Dungeon Siege and the like.

Nah, I just seen Indie Switch ports that you wouldn't expect to see console ports by how they look in terms of visuals. I'm actually avoiding typical hack n slashes because I'm sick of them. I'm more in search of new fresher gameplay with unique twists. If you do get a PC tho, may as well dive into the modding community.

Oh for sure, Nintendo Switch has been unexpectedly great for those interesting indie releases.

I want to play El Hijo. You don't see too many cozy stealth games. Beasts of Maravilla Island also get me. It's a nice change of pace from Pokemon Snap.

I'm intrigued by Leaf, bruh. It looks to have inspired TUNIC in terms of aesthetic and exploration design. Headliner Novinews look to scream Indie hidden gem and Tiny Tanks actually look fun like Mario Party.
