2021 JOHN TITOR FASHION FORECAST
Before I begin let me make it clear, things you see on the runway get copied by fast fashion houses like Zara to be repurposed for dumbed down fits. In case you were wondering how the fashion world works. For example : Kanye doing Yeezy season in 2015 and then mid 2016 Zara & H&m all of a sudden doing beige, green torn up shirts and selling knock off sneakers that look like Yeezy boost. Most of the things you yourself are wearing right now is by product of a bigger version on the runway. Here are the following trends to look out for 2021.
Exposed Thong
In the hands of a new generation of designers, 2020 is racing to reclaim the exposed thong trend of the early 2000s.
Knit Sportswear It has been a huge trend at Bloomingdale's this fall and I don't see any signs of it slowing down in 2021
FOOTWEAR
Retro-Feeling Sneakers,Clogs,square toe,Color-Blocked Sneakers,Indulgent House Shoes
Dramatic Bubble Shapes + Puffer
A standout shape of F/W 20, the bubble dress reinstated its prevalence for S/S 21 (see: Loewe, Patou, Simone Rocha). Soft and pillowy, there is something in these cocoon-like silhouettes that speak to our need for comfort and protection in midst of the events of 2020
Market Bags + 90s cleo + 1961 Clip + Flap bag
BUTTERFLY EFFECT
the butterflys of the 2000s is back. On prints and single object as well as even Instagram filters !
Chestnut hair + Toffee + Natural + Chunky highlights
During the start of the year people started letting their hair grow out natural due to the salons being down. Expect more shutdowns to make that happen. In addition the states that did not saw the spike in Toffee and chunky highlights.
Ultimate Grey & ButterCup Yellow
Perhaps knowing that lightning is unlikely to strike twice, for 2021 the US-paint brand’s team of trend forecasters have selected two shades – Ultimate Grey and Illuminating – the second time they have done so in the Colour of the Year’s two decade history.Their second choice Illuminating is a buttercup yellow, which Pantone describe as “bright and cheerful”; “sparkling with vivacity” and “imbued with solar power”. It is the first time in over a decade a shade of yellow has been chosen. In 2009, when they selected a warmer yellow, Mimosa, they said “no other colour expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow”. A lot may have changed in 10 years, but it seems Pantone’s interpretation of yellow has not.
Speaking with Vogue, Pantone’s trend forecasters explained they selected two colours because, “it became apparent that there was never going to be one colour that could express everything that needed to be expressed — that it was, instead, critical to have two independent colours that could come together.”
Muted Color Palettes in commercials
Muted color palettes really took over the graphic design world last year, and show no sign of stopping anytime soon. In addition to making a graphic feel more authentic, muted colors also feel very natural and organic.
Rustic + Cottagecore + Arts & crafts Interior

Ooh will guys be able 2 expose their thongs, wear see through tops/jerseys/tanks, crop tops, short shorts? TikTok is basically what will dictate trendy fashion going forward. I do like some of the chic fashions promoted by TikTok influencers Not so a fan of the more throwback, over-the-top stuff going on there though.

Is techwear still a thing? With how popular masks are now and Drake wearing it in one of his MVs (Toosie Slide) I thought it would blow up in 2020/2021. Hot boy summer look in 2021, just telling you all now.

Btw I usually avoid catwalk fashion like the pest, but I do like what's in store for next year. Vogue especially came through with their "ugly but fun" fashion: Not sure what's going on, but it sure is intriguing. I feel like catwalks EVERY year are "ugly but interesting" lmao.

Just saw the 2021 Pantone colors and tbh I am not impressed. I would have been much more satisfied with them just choosing a vibrant shade of yellow to help set an optimistic atmosphere, but that shade of gray is so dismal. If they wanted to mimic the actual current, they could've at least gone with a richer, "comfortable" neutral.
And yeah knitwear is totally heating up.

These velvet paisley are-they-or-aren't-they lounge pants are exactly the type of luxe we need.

Do you think 2010s fashion is on their last gasp or breathe in 2021 like 2000s fashion is on their last gasp or breathe in 2011? Or will we have to wait until 2023 or 2024 for 2010s fashion to be fully dead? yes because there are still some people unfort with manbuns and people in general that don't change yet, it's like that with any decade
