Music of 2020 just ain't doing it for me, am sorry my lovelies xx Post all your wonders of the madness decade instead and let's have fun. Bad tastes wholeheartedly welcome. This revived some repressed memories of pretending to enjoy the Fast & Furious franchise. Sometimes you just gotta let that sweet wild angst energy out. Amy was such a beauts too. Ummm... when did we stop admiring the genius of this song unironically? Possibly from 1999 but since this was bumped at every party in the 00s I am counting it in unapologetically. That fashion is iconic ngl. Crazy Frog might still enjoying that Youtube fame (seriously Axel F is one of the most viewed videos on the platform??), but the actual talent of Schnuffel is something that should not be forgotten but admired and cherished. Not the peak of class but we all do love our dumb songs sometimes. I don't even remember this but this is cute. This is peak euro-ecstasy if I'm being honest. Since y'all probably tired of my picks at this point, here's one from someone who rocked the cheese and made it cool. This is one of the mainstays of my already disturbingly long playlist of eurocheese hits Oops A song created exclusively for parties and released a day before my 10th birthyear, I take this as a sign. This is a song created for me, and will only accept that fact. Legit one of the greatest dance tracks of all-time. This is pure joy in song-form. This is it, it's my antidote for the joyless 2020 we're having lovelies xxx

Brings back memories of when me and my '97 born cousin would listen to this on his portable CD player in the back of the car. One of the downsides of being a mid 2000s kid. ◻️

Second batch of cheese because I can't be stopped and didn't want to appear excessive in my first post.
A song that combines bongos with rave beats in a super seamless fashion? That's talent right here.
Intro might be iconic, but the whole song is a vibe.
Even the queen of 2009 deserves a spot on here, and what better than this adorbs song.
Summer 2003 was unbearably hot. This made it a bit more bearable.
Encore is believed to be when Slim Shady went too far in the wackiness, but I will take it over whatever meaningful he's releasing lately BY FAr.
So overly melodramatic and wine mommy, it becomes its own masterpiece.
What mid-2000s dreams are made of.
Even snap had its own masterpiece, so anyone can do it, just believe in yourself my lovelies <3~~
Gwen Stefani was one crazy, avant-garde kween.
Might not be good post-grunge.. Actually I don't think post-grunge can be good so I will take this cheesefest over the rest please and thank you.
Spicy clip for spicy song.
Missy outdid everyone by embracing the cheesy but still oozing class and the fantastic jams like this.
Even a song for a Mojito commercial could be a jam back then what the hell.
Does my European come up strong with these picks? Yes. Do I care? Noooo
I embrace the audacity of being super seductive and super ridiculous at the same time.
Fun fact: it was called "Let's Get Retarded" originally. Not PC, but sort of encapsulates the spirit of the song very well in the best way possible.
Can't be a 00s cheese thread without including the Macarena of the 2000s.
It's getting dangerously lacking in Y2K cheese so here's some.
Has every ingredient for a disastrous Pitbull song but I actually don't hate it. Definitely one for the guiltiest of guilty pleasures tho.

I have a confession to make: I still unironically listen to and enjoy like, half of the early 2000s songs that have been posted here so far.

Some of the songs that have been posted are actually genuinely good, no kidding. "Hey Ya" and "Move Your Feet" are two songs I love from 2003, "Hey Ya" especially is a real 'feel-good' song and they both give me a huge amount of nostalgia for my early childhood. Watching the music video for "Soulja Boy" is kind of good for a laugh too.

Just going to leave this song here, from Australian legend Shannon 'Nollsie' Noll:

What you get when a wannabe-Benji Madden finishes within the Top-3 on Australian Idol in Late 2005: That music video is the definition of cheese, lol. Unfortunately, it was a big hit here too. It topped the charts, this! ^

Lee was such a one-trick pony when he appeared on Australian Idol back then, always incorporating his "style" of consistent sped up renditions of songs (whether they originally were or not, case in point "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor - there is a video of it on YouTube). I would like to say the populous tastes in music has improved over the years, but I would be mostly lying.

It was apparently on top of the charts for five consecutive weeks, and then it stayed within the Top-10 for a further five weeks! A lot of people point out that it's a shame that none of the winners off "The Voice" have had much success after the show, but when you look back at some of the Idol contestants who went well on the show and then had success on the charts in the mid 2000s, I don't think its entirely a bad thing. To be honest, I actually don't remember Lee Harding off the show itself, but I was never a regular watcher of "Australian Idol". I do know of the "Eye of the Tiger" cover you're talking about though. It was pretty bad from what I remember.

Yeah, putting Lee aside as he faded away into obscurity rather quickly, the local Idol version produced quite a lot of artists that went on to forge a successful career even to this day, surprisingly. Think Guy Sebastian etc. None of the others have come close. It was awful back then and still is. He absolutely destroyed such a great song that night. I think I read somewhere one of the networks (7 or 9?) were planning on reviving the show. Here's your chance to become a regular viewer.
