Seriously, what happened to all the party songs? About 10-ish years ago, you had songs like "Party Rock Anthem" (LMFAO), "Where them girls at?" (David Guetta), "International Love" (Pitbull feat. Chris Brown), "Starships" (Nicki Minaj), "Sorry for Party Rocking" (LMFAO again, they really dominated this genre), "Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor)" (Pitbull again), "Give me Everything" (Pitbull again, he also dominated this genre), among many others. Seems like all popular songs nowadays are about relationships, heartbreak, or just feelings in general. Anyone else notice this trend? Or is it just me?

Nobody can go out and do anything and the economy is the worst it's been since the early 1930s. This isn't the time for party songs. This is probably the first year ever that I have almost no EDM in my year-end playlist (I have one Chainsmokers song from January and that's it). I actually predict dance music to make a comeback in the late 2020s or early 2030s.

True, music had been evolving towards a more lo-fi, bedroom pop direction even in 2019. I'm predicting a backlash against that in the second half of the decade. Billie Eilish has a new album coming out in 2021 and how it does will be a pretty good indicator at what direction music is going to go.

Nobody's going to parties? Not according to Instagram. Fuck them for partying during a pandemic and fuck them for not inviting me. 😡
