Yes the PS2 came out in late 2000, but shortages persisted until late 2001. PS5 came out in late 2020, but shortages may persist until sometime around late 2021-2023 because of silicon shortage. 2020 reminded me of 2000 because of how excited people were for the new decade, but were underwhelmed when it started. This Disney store closures in 2021 reminded me of Warner Bros store closures in 2001. Plus we got a new president in 2021 like we did in 2001. Maybe there is a 19-20 year cycle. Fashion trends from the early 2000s are coming back in style. I remember seeing your fashion forecast for 2021. Here is the article that talks about silicone shortage if you’re interested: www.google.com/amp/s/fortune.com/2021/05/09/chip-semiconductor-shortage-global-end/amp/oh this is def going to go on until 2022, I heard Sony is remaking the ps5 to not have the same chipsets or something to make demand. I am thinking about doing a 2021 - 2022 school year PREVIEW forecast , I mean I think I have a good reputable track record lol I wonder how Sony would make PS5 not have the same chipsets possible. I am curious to see how that plays out. You have a good reputable track record. XD I am looking forward to your 2021-2022 school year PREVIEW forecast.

Despite what is said here about WWF, The Attitude era started in March 1997 when Raw got a Raw is War Titantron set, it ended on Wrestlemania 17 April 2001 when Stone Cold turned bad and shook Vince's hand and WCW was bought. In between April 2 2001 and Late March 2002 was the Post Attitude mini era (consisted on the WCW & ECW Alliance Invasion) This mini era ended April 1 2002 when Raw debuted the new Stage and the brand extension draft was in effect and became known as the Ruthless Aggression era. Just LOL @saying the Attitude era was still a thing in late 2001, but Late 2001 Smackdown! already had it's fist stage. Go on Reddit sub reddits ask ANYONE when the attitude era ended and everyone will give you the same answer Wrestlemania 17. Even STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN himself in his podcast says Wrestlemania 17 was the end of the attitude era. There is a whole video on this topic.
As far as pop punk''s decline, it declined because of Disney taking advantage of it in commercials + Scene sub culture starting to replace Emo sub culture + Hipster growing slowly. That is what killed pop punk. I would say it's peak was 2006 to coincide with the year Myspace was the most visited website in the world. You still saw pop punk in commercials, bumpers for networks and on peoples myspace's and the charts. Pop Punk was still somewhat of a force in 2007 & 2008 but it's highest highs were already reached. Scene also kind of merged with hipster as well. Pop Punk had many things going against it in the late 2000s.. OH and Electropop was on the rise.
I started working at E! news around 2009 and I remember pop punk got groans and sighs whenever it was played. At the time Electropop was the "cool thing" pop punk was dead in the water at the time.
astropoug is not getting the facts straight
I watched the video, and what he said wasn't that the event killed Attitude Era, but that it was the final hurrah. It was an amazing event. And he LITERALLY SAID that 2001 was one of the best years in WWE history. So there was still strong interest in WWE in 2001. Clearly, that shows the Attitude Era was still ongoing in 2001. It completely ended when WWF changed their name to WWE and changed their branding in 2002. Ratings began to fall, and the events declined in quality. 2006 was a great year for pop punk, but I'd still say 2004-2005 was the absolute peak. IMO it never got bigger than American Idiot, which was EVERYWHERE during the 2004-2005 school year. My Chemical Romance blew up, Fall Out Boy became popular, video games with pop punk soundtracks like Burnout 3 came out. This was when pop punk was most inescapable and popular. Plus MySpace was already popular then. MySpace really bridged the gap between the emo culture and scene culture. Scene reached its peak in 2009. So MySpace was popular in 2009, but now scene kids were the defining subculture of the platform rather than emo kids. MySpace died off in 2010. If I really had to say the exact peak of pop punk I'd probably say 2005, since that's when Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco broke out in popularity, but the singles for American Idiot and Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge were still being released.

The attitude era was done by Wrestlemania 17, you probably do not remember this but ratings started falling in Fall 2000 when Raw switched from USA Network to TNN. Also the head writer left the company around that time as well. Ratings were already dropping before WCW was even bought out. When The Rock left for a bit the night after Wrestlemania ratings dropped even more.
NEWS Report about this
^ The news even reported about it. The last time WWF got a MAJOR non Wrestlemania PPV buyrate was when the INVASION ppv aired (because people thought Goldberg & Sting were going to invade) the last 7.0 rating Raw got was in late July 2001 when The Rock finally returned. Raw never got a 7.0 rating since. Ratings were already in free fall before 2002 happened. House show events were down as well. Just because a company keeps their branding does not mean it's in the same era. Everywhere on the internet will tell you the Attitude era ended in 2001 after Mania. By September 2001 Raw dropped the Raw is War branding due to 9/11, The Smackdown fist was already out as well. The era between April 2 2001 and Late March 2002 is known as the mini Invasion era. Once April 1 2002 started the draft was in effect, the roster was split and Raw got a new stage, that is the start of the Ruthless Aggression era (before Vince McMahon actually named it) as depicted below, note WWF was still WWF when Ruthless Aggression started
^ as you can see they are already saying they are in a new era, as far as pop punk 2005 or 2006 is fine. I pick 2006 as Myspace was the 1# website in the world and it kind of had a hand in the rise. I would say Myspace was already dead before 2010 tbh

@$t1nkyP00t willing to bet rn we are in a transition thats almost complete by Fall 2021 similar to 2001. Pop Punk is now in commercials and top 10 on radio, w even artists that weren't pop punk ( Willow Smith, Olivia ) now making the pop punk jump. Now while Covid is not finished, Mask rules have been laxed and State of emergency is being lifted in various states, lowest Covid numbers ever being reported, sporting events are bringing back full capacity. Looking like we got our summer back. The Vaccines have been a 100% success. Also movies like Dune are reversing their decsion to be on HBO max first and many are opting for Theaters only because of the pandemic getting MUCH better in the usa This DID NOT age well lmao I do agree with the idea we are in transistion. Though TBH I think the entire early 2020s will be defined by COVID, something which didn't define the late 2010s, and hopefully won't define the mid 2020s

I actually do not think we will culturally enter the 2020s until 2023 or 2024. I will also forfeit my late 2021 prediction. I think we are in a transition which started anywhere from 2019 to 2020 and will last through 2022 or 2023. I will not get my hopes up about COVID disappearing in 2022 or 2023. Who knows what will define the cultural 2020s? I think the early 2020s will be an era onto itself, similar to what the early 1960s were for example.

I definitely agree with all of the 2010s ones. 2014 can also be argued for the mid 2010s, since it's so goddamn similar to 2015. 100% agreed with 2018. Specifically early-mid 2018, when Fortnite, deepfried memes, and emo rap was everywhere. For earlier decades, I'd say Early 80s: 1982 Mid 80s: 1984 Late 80s: 1988 Early 90s: 1992 Mid 90s: 1994 Late 90s: 1998

I feel like mid 2008-early 2009 was peak late 2000s. Basically the time frame when Fred was the most subscribed YouTuber, Total Drama Island was airing, and the Great Recession was at its worst. In mid 2009, you had things like Facebook overtaking MySpace, Farmville coming out, the Minecraft beta first came out, Justin Bieber became popular, YouTube adding HD, and the recession began to recover. Then late 2009 added to that with movies like Avatar and 2012, Windows 7 coming out, Angry Birds came out (though wasn't popular yet), and Nickelodeon changing their logo.

It was mostly mid 10s but still felt very upbeat like the early 10s did. I mean a song called "Happy" literally came out at the start of the year. Also 7th gen was transitioning over to 8th gen. Most people gamed on 7th gen. Minecraft was still trendy and still the most popular game at the time besides GTA V.

It declined in 2016. 2013 was technically the start of the 8th Gen, but the biggest games of that year (The Last of Us, GTA V. BioShock Infinite) were released for 7th Gen systems. 2014 is transitional. GTA V and The Last of Us were rereleased for 8th Gen systems, but most new games were cross-Gen, and some, like Dark Souls II, we’re initially 7th-Gen only. I think the 2013-2014 school year was the last school year that was 7th Gen dominant. 2014-2015 on the other hand transitioned to the 8th Gen, and saw the release of important titles like Five Nights at Freddys, which defined the mid 2010s. At any rate, 2014 Internet culture did not feel early 10s at all. Facebook was now a joke. Teens were using Instagram and Vine. Rage comics and trollface memes were dead. Bronies weren’t cool anymore.

But instagram and other mobile social media overtook it in regards to youth culture.
