I realized this song is turning 6 this year and I'm curious if you guys/gals think it already sounds dated.
For reference:
2015 to 2009 = 6 years
2021 to 2015 = 6 years

Really don't know about that but I don't think this type of song would be popular today. It's your typical mid-2010s EDM track, which is obviously no longer fresh so I guess it's semi-dated.

Agreed, i think the actual sounds used in the production of this song held up pretty well so far, but the song itself would never be released in 2021 (unless it was a disco/90s dance instead of mid-10s edm)

Yeah I don’t see something like this charting the billboard since today it’s more focused on trap than edm so this song sounds dated to me.

Definitely dated. Sounds out of place now with most EDM. Could only see that song being a hit in the mid 2010s or 2014-2017 to be exact

It doesn't really sound current, but at the same time I think it's held up better than other songs from 2015. I dont think its dated.

I know it's not intended to reference the band, but whenever I hear the "is it like Nirvana?" lyric in the song, it always reminds me of how popular Nirvana t-shirts and red flannels were when I was 15 and 16.
It's dated in the sense that it could only be a Mid 2010s pop song and it would sound out of place if it were on the charts today, however I don't believe it sounds "old" as such. I actually think it still sounds pretty fresh considering the fact that it's now 6 years old. So I voted "no".
