I hope the title makes sense. Generally speaking, in your opinion, what do you think would be the best country to grow up/live in, based on experiencing the music on the mainstream Top-50 charts? I know i'm bias with this, but I would personally say that Australia would have to be one of the best countries to grow up in regards to chart music. Although the current Top-50 chart is far from great and the Australian music scene is in a dire state, we have generally always had a healthy mix of US and UK songs on our charts, as well as our own homegrown music and the odd song from other countries around the world. As a result, our Top-50 chart has traditionally been quite diverse. In all honesty, I believe the US is quite ordinary in regards to it's music charts and I personally wouldn't want to grow up with the music on the Billboard Hot 100. Many foreign acts struggle to breakthrough in America, meaning that so many great songs/bands just go unheard of and don't achieve chart success at all. What are your thoughts on this?

I might be biased, but I think the NZ Top 40 is the best maybe just becasue I'm used to it, ARIA is also good for similar reasons. Sorry, but I agree that the Billboard Hot 100 just isn't very good, especially right now .

The NZ Top-40 and ARIA Chart have always been quite similar, so they generally would be as good as each other, IMO. A lot of Australian songs chart in New Zealand as well, even ones that aren't successful in the US and/or UK. With the exception of Australia and NZ, England would probably be the next best country for chart music.

I personally like the UK the most, since its charts have simply been the most diverse overall and welcome far more hit singles than the majority of other countries, but I'd maybe give a slight nod to Germany as well, as they had some really excellent taste in dance music. America hasn't always been terrible – the pop charts were far superior in the US to what they were in the UK in 1973, for example – but still, I'm really pissed about how many fantastic pop songs there are that never achieved mass success here over garbage like ringtone rap, for example.
