The southern states are always 20 years behind so yes The 2000s do have a very Southern vibe in general actually, which probably had to do with Outkast blowing up in the decade.

Florida is very much a suburban mall state, like Pennsylvania and New Jersey (the former being the state Mean Girls takes place in).

Britney was from the south right? And so was Bush 🤔 and i heard trucker hats were a popular fashion statement back then. Patriotism was very popular for a while too.

So is Dell, a company I associate with the 2000s. Both Florida and Texas are rapidly growing red coastal states with lots of suburbs and malls. Patriotism is more something I associate with states like Virginia, or the mountain states. If you look up patriotic state, those come up.

The other states that are very representative of the 2000s in my opinion are Texas, Louisiana, and New Jersey Texas is where George W Bush and Dell are from, and has lots of malls and a long coastline. Whilst New Jersey is a blue state, if ANY state is going to be representative of the "malls, suburbs, and beaches" culture of the 2000s, it HAS to be New Jersey. Louisiana is among the most conservative, homophobic states in the country, and is the home of Britney Spears and Lil Wayne. The state was also hit hard by Katrina. Florida is still easily the most 2000s state though. Florida is the 2000s in state form.

Country was also kinda big in the first half of the 2000s. Didn't Madonna do a country themed/oriented album?

When I think of Florida in particular, I think of all the pop punk bands from there like Yellowcard, Mayday Parade, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I was actually watching a video about pop punk and they specifically mentioned lyrical themes of hating their hometown, and how so many of these bands were Floridian.

If Florida is the most 2000’s state, what would be the most 2010’s state?

If Florida is the most 2000’s state, what would be the most 2010’s state? Oregon Hipsters, liberalism, and LGBT friendliness It's also where the show Gravity Falls takes place

Oregon Hipsters, liberalism, and LGBT friendliness It's also where the show Gravity Falls takes place California, no? California is also very representative of the 2010s, as it does have all these things. It's also the headquarters of all the Silicon Valley companies that control our lives nowadays. Oh, and Disney.

Jacksonville, New Orleans, Virginia Beach, or Houston could very well be that city though, namely a suburb of one of those cities.
