This is amazing, Hip Hop before Hip Hop even existed. It has rapping and a prominent drum section working as a beat pattern. It was released in 1968, a whopping decade and a year before "Rapper's Delight". So ahead of its time.

I heard "Running Out of Time" played as a background track on The Block just a few minutes ago. I wasn't familiar with the song (it's just an album track, which explains why I had never heard of it before), so I tried searching for it on YouTube and that's how I discovered that it was a Simple Plan song. Anyway, I couldn't remember what their other songs were like, so I've decided to listen to "Perfect" and wow...it has given me a huge sense of nostalgia. I haven't listened to this in years. Talk about a blast from the past!

I went to JB HI FI (an electronics store) just over an hour ago and I decided to browse through the CD section in the store. One thing I noticed whilst browsing through the CDs was that Lifehouse was listed under the "popular bands" section. Would Lifehouse really be considered to be a popular band? I mean, I know "Hanging By A Moment" was a huge hit (it reached #1 here) and "You and Me" and "Halfway Gone" were also moderately successful, but it's not as if they had a huge string of Top-10 hits.
I also noticed that the Scissor Sisters were listed in that same category and I thought that seemed a bit odd as well.

I'm so sick of AC/DC at the moment. I've never been a fan of them, but I've heard their songs quite a lot lately and i'm starting to get really tired of hearing them. For the month of October, my local rock station played an AC/DC at the beginning of every hour, for the entire month. They did it as part of their "Rocktober" station promotion, which was a promotion based on playing and celebrating Australian rock music. I don't know how many times I have heard "Back in Black" and "It's a Long Way to the Top". Ugh.

Am I alone, or has “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” suddenly gotten way more popular recently? I can’t count how many times I just happened to stumble upon this song in public this past year, yet I didn’t even know about the track growing up as a kid and teen. I know there was a biopic this year about Whitney Houston, but this single in particular has practically reached meme status, almost on the same level as “Never Gonna Give You Up”.

I remember when I was a senior in high school, this was a favorite song among a bunch of the cheerleaders. The first time I heard it, ever, was during a presentation one of them gave. I looked up what it was and strangely kept hearing it and seeing it mentioned the rest of the spring. Since then I’ve heard it off and on in waves. It really seems to be one of those songs that has become more popular retrospectively.

It's interesting to hear both of your experiences with the song, because I honestly can't say that I have heard "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" at all in recent times. In fact, the last time I can remember hearing it was on one of my local radio stations back in July and the reason why I can remember it is because it was such a rarity to actually hear the song on the radio! Maybe i'm just out of the loop. Speaking of overplayed songs, another song that I have noticed has re-surged in popularity is "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. I've heard that song at least 5-6 times on the radio within the past two weeks.

True, but there didn't necessarily have to be any context behind it. It may have just been a song that the radio station decided to add into their playlist.

Sorry, but i'm not a fan of it. I dislike hip-hop/rap in general.

Absolutely love the Queer Aura this video and song emit:
I've been super obsessed with this song for a couple months now. I somewhat relate to the lyrics too.
I also love to choreography and wardrobe.
