Yeah pretty much. Don't get me started with just married lol, they aired that movie WAY too many times on cable in the the 2000s. You can kind of appreciate them now for what they are even if they weren't the best at the time. I still have a soft spot for early 2000s corniness. Def, it was the equivalent of watercooler talk back then, like you talked about it first period in class for like a week and thats it lol, I think the fact that in Early 2003 when that Just Married commercial was on (every damn channel aired that ad) it like kicked you in the face to see it. Like you had to see it. Even if the movie looked dumb you saw it anyways because it was the talk of the week. I think in the early 2000s it seemed movie commercials were added at higher frequency then the mid 2000s, the fact that I remember "call me pussy line" is stuck in my head speaks volumes. Oh for sure, I miss that dynamic with movies back then, there were definitely more overplayed movie commercials in the Y2K era and early 2000s compared to later, and to some extent tv ads in general. Movies were aggressively marketed back then and often times that would result in them being more talk of the town social events back then, I think lack of social media and video content contributed. Yeah I remember catchy lines ads were more of thing, this directly comes to mind, it was used in scary movie, and was popular to say in social setting until 2002, or even a bit earlier. It definitely was was dorky and out of date after then. Original: Scary Movie I really miss early 2000s advertising in general, dvd ads with VHS and DVD logos being advertised in the menu, they still had a 90s movie preview format as well. Now I'm thinking on doing something on iconic late 90s/y2k/early 2000s video ads.

Like everyone used to say it back in school and there were lots of parodies of it online. Of course being the type of show it is, Annoying Orange did a parody of it, and briefly revived it. Since I didn't grow up in the early 00s, this was legitimately my first exposure to this meme LMAO

Movie advertising in the early 2000s was definitely very aggressive back then. In some cases, it would get to the point where they would falsely advertise portions of the movie. But the most egregious example is definitely Kangaroo Jack, who's marketing portrayed the movie as being a movie about a talking kangaroo. Only for audiences to be disappointed when they found out was just a mediocre heist movie that happens to take place in Australia

Don't forget The Emperor's New Groove! Hilarious film The early 2000s in general was a fantastic time for animated movies. So many classics like Emperor's New Groove, Shrek, Monsters Inc, Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch, Ice Age.

The early 2000s in general was a fantastic time for animated movies. So many classics like Emperor's New Groove, Shrek, Monsters Inc, Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch, Ice Age. that movie was such a non event lol It might not have been big when it first came out, but it gained a cult following after being released on home video. I watched this movie when I was a kid. And I loved it. What’s interesting is this movie seems to be well loved among my generational cohort, early Gen Z, and yet this movie came out during the core millennial era. Maybe because plot and humor wise it was kind of ahead of its time. If it was done in CGI and came out in say, 2006, it WOULD have been a big deal. Then again, I like the fact it’s 2D animated. We need more 2D animated movies.
