Early 20s is a weird time. Both early 2000s nostalgia and early 2010s nostalgia are blowing up simultaneously. It's because this is such a horrible time to live. 2011 seems like a dream compared to 2021.

2011 is my favorite year of the 2010s both personal and pop culture (top 3 in my life thus far). 2011 may not be a utopia year, but compared it to the years that followed, it was not bad at all.

2009/2010 are the last years to feel like another world imo 2011 is the definitely atleast getting there. 2012-2015 feels kind of dated but not crazy, 2016-2017 is semi-dated, and 2018-2019 is modern but not exactly like today for obv reasons. 2011 feels dated but a lot more modern than the previous year because of smartphones becoming commonplace, windows 7 and core 10s identity being established that year(which entails dozens of things that i cba to mention). Same goes with 2012 and 2013. It will probably take another cultural shift for me to see those years as another world. 2014 - 2016 i'd say is kind of dated stylistically but the tech isn't that different from now and it still seems very modern looking back. 2017 onwards is completely modern.

I don't think 2012/2013 are completely alien yet, but 2010/2011 definitely are. 2009/2010 are the last years to feel like another world imo 2019 is the last year that feels like another world in my opinion due to the massive shift in 2020 because of the pandemic which completely changed the world.
