the songs in 2009 such as I got a feeling and Pokerface are more uptempo, 2007 does not have that. Not saying all of 2009 music was uptempo but the good majority of stuff being pumped out was dance music. In 2007 you had emo music, rap, and yes some Timbaland produced music ( that is the only semblance u can take) but in 2009 Timbaland's run was pretty much over, around 2008. Also gangsta rap despite falling off in 2007 was still there until the Fall ( when Kanye's Graduation outselling 50 put the final burial of it) Apples and oranges really Hits such as "Down", Taking Back My Love" and "Fire burning" had timbaland style drum beats. RedOne produced them but he was inspired by timbaland to the point where it's basically plagarism. There's mostly core 00s style music that would fit in a lot more in 2007 than 2011 like "The Fear", "Love Story", "Dead and Gone", "We Made You", "Waking up in vegas" to name a few. because Red One was inspired by it, I agree it was straight up cut copy but you are kind of missing what I am saying, most of the music in 2009 did not sound like 2007. But let's compare Red One and Timbaland for a moment. Sean Kingston Fire burning : Super super danceable and uptempo Nelly Furtado : Mean Eater (not as uptempo and has none of the same DNA) Mind you this is the most "high energy" Timbaland song I could find in 2006/2007, 2008 and 2009 do not count as his era was over then. In 2009 u had songs like this on the radio Nothing on the radio in 2007 was even remotely fast as that then, not even Blackout album, not even Graduation by Kanye. Here is another 2009 song, nothing in 2007 really matches that either

Pretty much anything that isn't electropop in the first half of 2009 sounded like it could come out in 2007.

I know but we are talking about if 2007 in 2009 music land would be out of place and it kind of would. Music was just WAY 2 fast in 2009. Anything can have ties to something or be inspired by. Red One's songs are different sounding enough to not sound like a copy even if it is. Music in general was just really fast in 2009, 2007 really does not fit much into the equation at all. Maybe songs created in 2007 that took long to release is the only thing I can think of. Sometimes in music songs are sat on for a bit before being passed to other artists, PINK is the biggest example, because she had songs made in 2006 that did not even come out until way later.
