As much as I hate the 2010s, you have to admit 2019 had the power of a Blockbuster year. Was every release a hit ? No.. Was every release original ? No.. but overall that year brought us stellar movies that left us talking for months. Like I really had to stop and gasp at how powerful this year was for movies. Going to go on record by saying this might be the greatest year of the 2010s movie wise.

Remember the tight grip Joker had on pop culture back in 2019? A true blockbuster
And, my god, Endgame was an EVENT. The whole world was watching

The whole world was watching its official, 2019 was the greatest 2010s movie year, it really did have the whole world watching ( much like No way Home will in a few weeks) but..this is pre pandemic vibes, the whole energy felt different of going to a movie back then. JUST wow... I really did have to collect my thoughts as I was going thru these, because I kind of blocked 2019 out of my memory lol, 2019 literally brought classic at every single week to the cinemas.

Uncut Gems. Released to Netflix in January 2020, but to theatres in December 2019.

Going to the theaters, mall, outings, etc in general in 2019 were special. I’m glad I enjoyed that year and lived it to the fullest. I turned 21 that year so I’m nostalgic for my life back then. 2019 had a heavy “This is it” finale feeling, scary looking back. one of the better 2010s years along with 2011 and 2010 Can't believe I am saying this lol

I thought you hated 2019. 2019 could potentially be in the rafters or an S-Tier 2010s year in the future. Honestly 2011 was the best year of the early 2010s imo. 2019 was the best year of the 2010s for me. 2011 and 2016 are not that far behind. What I liked about 2019 was how fresh it felt after going through years 2017 and 2018. Even if 2019 wasn’t that disconnected from the 2010s compared to 1999 and 2009 for the 1990s and 2000s respectively, I liked how 2010s culture started to wind down. 2019 suffers from "only good because the year after was a disaster syndrome" but in reality the year was good for movies, every single a week a great movie came out for the most part. I think in the future 2019 will prob be up there with the likes of 2010 and 2011. Right now 2011 is at the top, does not seem any year is touching it yet. I know 2016 had gained traction in the last few years. When you ask most people on the street what are your fav 2010s years, you most likely get 2010 and 2011.

The late 10s are starting to get some love
I'm sure 2019 will get a lot of love a few years from now
Not unlike 1989, 1999 and 2009
