2019 suffers from "only good because the year after was a disaster syndrome" but in reality the year was good for movies, every single a week a great movie came out for the most part. I think in the future 2019 will prob be up there with the likes of 2010 and 2011. Right now 2011 is at the top, does not seem any year is touching it yet. I know 2016 had gained traction in the last few years. When you ask most people on the street what are your fav 2010s years, you most likely get 2010 and 2011. Top 5 years of the 2010s IMO 1. 2016 2. 2011 3. 2013 4. 2019 5. 2010 not bad ranking

I know 2016 had gained traction in the last few years. When you ask most people on the street what are your fav 2010s years, you most likely get 2010 and 2011. I see 2019 getting that reputation. 2019 may be regarded as 1999 in the future. βWhen everything started to suckβ might be pushed up from 2017 to 2020. Iβm surprised 2016 started to get love in 2018 or 2019. I recall everyone hating 2016 as it was going on and were happy when 2017 came. I think 2017 was worse, even for movies and pop culture overall. No good movies came out in 2017. I had a conversation with a coworker in 2019 about everyone hating 2016. They didnβt know what I was talking about. They thought hard and finally said βTrump got elected.β It seems as if people forgot the craziness of 2016 lol. I recall John Oliver burning down 2016. He burned down 2020 too lol. I think 2010 was overrated, especially the 1st half or the first 3 quarters. I think movies that year are PIVOTAL as well as Game of Thrones (the world is watching) let down of a finale, it's most likely what people will be rememebring from that year. A movie slate can make or break a year like we saw with 2006.

I remember watching some of these in theatres in mid 2020 right before all theatres were forced to shut down. The few places that were open all had older movies.
15-19 saw some in improvements in good movies.
Just though Aladdin and Lion King were good.

Not really a big fan of the Disney remakes.

It is crazy how you literally had Avengers Endgame and then Spiderman back to back pretty much

Too bad most of these are cash grabs. Honestly don't see anything original in movies anymore. It's just a bunch of remakes or sequels.

The late 10s are starting to get some love I'm sure 2019 will get a lot of love a few years from now Not unlike 1989, 1999 and 2009 It certainly helps that 2019 was a "calm before the storm" year, before COVID and the George Floyd protests.
