The 2010s blurred completely the line between mainstream and underground with the age of streaming, major props for that!

There's like 2-3 girls at my school that dress gothic.

Wait, gothic/witch fashion a '10s thing? Halloween culture in general seems to be at a lowpoint in popularity this decade... That's something i've noticed as well. Gothic culture, in general, just doesn't seem to be as popular as it was during the 2000s.

Wait, gothic/witch fashion a '10s thing? Halloween culture in general seems to be at a lowpoint in popularity this decade... Okay I see what you mean so let me re-phrase. Last decade goth was bigger but also somewhat stigmatizing. Instead I feel like black clothing has become a lot more accessible, ie: I could wear a black flow-y dress or some combat boots and someone might just say “you look witchy” as a compliment. There isn’t such a distinction between goth and non-goth now; the style is softer but doesn’t glue one to the look anymore either.

To me, it's Lorde that made this kind of look cool

Yup pretty much exactly what I mean. It has also accompanied grunge revival looks.
