Aside from the medical field, because I do see them being used there all the time, I never see a tablet ( especially an ipad) IRL

People use them indoors to watch netflix and stuff.

People use them indoors to watch netflix and stuff. even indoors I haven't really seen them as much, I feel like for the most part people went back to laptops and phone screens got big enough to the point where they would suffice.

Nah young millennials and zoomers still use tablets instead indoors since it has some functionalities of a computer like netflix, bigger screen and faster processing speed but on the other hand it's much easier to carry around than a laptop. I noticed my step-brother used it all the time and rarely touched his laptop.

The biggest issue with iPads is they are hard to hold upright without some kind of stand. I find this annoying in bed like one hand gets tired and you can never get it to sit in the right position.

It's still around. It's just not buzzed about as smartphones are because an older model of a tablet can last you years. You don't need to upgrade it every year. They haven't made headlines since 2013 for this reason.

iPad kiosks have been implemented in restaurants like McDonalds for ordering, Disney stores, large mall anchor department stores like Macy’s and maybe more places that I can’t think of at the moment.
