Although this was an underwhelming year for music, luckily it didn't really have too many terrible songs. Songs are mediocre and uninspired at worst, rather than painful to sit through like last year IMO.
Here are the ones that stood out to me as particularly bad:
Drake ft. Future - "Way 2 Sexy"
This sounds like it was slapped together in 3 minutes. People really need to stop hyping up Drake when he's completely out-of-ideas and clearly releasing stuff just for stream numbers.
BTS - "Permission to Dance"
I'm tired of this group just releasing the same exact song over and over. What about all the cool creative k-pop released by other groups? Why did it have to be this to be hyped to oblivion...
Glass Animals - "Heat Waves"
This sounds like something Twenty-One Pilots would have released in 2016, only blander and completely personality-less. It's basically white noise for 4 minutes. This type of nondescript indie music really needs to stop.Maroon 5 ft. Meghan Thee Stallion - "Beautiful Mistakes"
It's amazing how this band seems to sink lower and lower with every year. This is basically Adam Levine on an incredibly uninspired trap production. And Meghan sounds so cheesy on this song for some reason.
Riton & Nightcrawlers ft. Mufasa & Hypeman - "Friday"
"Push the Feeling On" is a 90s house classic. Did they seriously need to butcher it with an uninspired future house remix that brings literally nothing?
Madison Beer - "Reckless"
Oh you thought "Drivers License" was boring? Wait until you hear this coma-inducing song.
There are a whole lot of other songs I find mediocre, but I typically just don't care about them rather than actively dislike like these here.
