What years of the 2010 would you consider uneventful with relatively small change. I would say 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2018 are. There are some changes but nothing that drastic or era defining.

2012 was an election year Probably the most uneventful election year ever, in the 21st century leastways. The incumbent predictably got re-elected.

There are some changes but nothing that drastic or era defining. nothing burger years ? hmmm 2018 is the first that springs to mind 2018 made soundcloud rap more popular and made battle royale games popular but it still seems like a very generic late 10s year with no big changes.

I bring this up every time 2012 is mentioned as a nothing year, and I'll bring it up again that 2012 was very very changeful for hip hop music.
The change was underway in partly 2009/2010, and mostly 2011, but 2012 was when trap really blew up and dominated the rap game.

There is always going to be changes but 2012 in general wasn't a shift year.
