I’m talking about years that weren’t terrible or amazing, just in the middle.

Average list:
1998 2000 2005 2009 2010 2013 2015 2018 2019 (parts of it)
Terrible list:
Early 2001 2006 Most of 2007 2020 2021 (even though there are some interesting things)
Liked but not crazy to relive list:
1997 1999 2001 2003 2008

2002 was amazing imo pop culturally, the best year of the 2000s. 2003 was a letdown. this is my feeling

2004 IMO. Perfect mix of early 2000s and core 2000s. 2004 was amazing too. I believe 2004 was better than 2000 through July 2001, 2003, and any year that came after. 2002 and 2004 are both tied imo. They only knock I can give against 2004 is that Q1 and Q2 kind of was slow and sucked lowkey, Q3 and Q4 were amazing and redeem the whole year. Enough stuff happened in those last 2 quarters that make up for the rest of the year.

Probably because I spent basically the whole year home sick watching Mary-Kate & Ashley movies lol

Was happy to see 2012 go because that was the year that really planted the seeds for mass/injustice shootings later in the decade, as horrible as that sounds. I remember Sandy Hook, Trayvon Martin, and the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting all he opened that year. Not to mention the predictable re-election of Obama at the end. Wii U flopped. Whitney Houston died. Sad year
2017 i was happy to see go because i became a legal adult and wanted to move out my parents house quickly but personally the second half of that year was boring aside from a few nice trips I took. Popular culture was mostly Trump, fidget spinners, fortnite, Taylor swift etc. It’s like the mid 2010s were still trying to hold on to 2017 with some things. 2015-17 could all blend together tbh
2019 was my favorite year of the 10s but i was excited to see it end bc I was ready for the new decade and turning 21 in 2020. We all know how that went tho. Luckily my bday was in February 😅
2020 was very nice to see go away for obvious reasons and personal ones
I remember not wanting 2011 to end because it was one of my favorite years. Had a lot of fun
I also remember wanting to stay in 2006 as a kid, not sure why lol

2002/2003 and 2017/2018 stand out in their not standing out for me. Just something blah about them. Yeah they feel empty. I think it’s because not much happened in 2002 compared to the adjacent years
