Today’s underground artists, play the same style of music or combine different genres. In the past, artists were more creative, took more risks, explored more and had more talent in creating music. This has nothing to do with originality, or if new artists compared to older artists steal riffs and if that undermines their creativity. Artists borrowing or stealing a few things is not new, and it does not determine creativity.
Groups like AC/DC had more creativity and talent in making music, so it wouldn't matter if they totally ripped off a good number of songs or not.
We don't have groups on the level of Led Zeppelin in the past decade. Today’s groups cannot come close to what past groups did even if half their music was repackaged from other older songs.
Some 2010s worshippers twist words by confusing originality with creativity when that was never brought up in the first place. They mischaracterize posters’ who have different opinions and beliefs from them. Ridiculous.

Creativity is not solely dependent on whether a certain amount of number of songs were ripped off or entirely original or sampled, creativity refers to exploration, talent and ingenuity in the overall music making process and overall scope of work. If 95 percent of songs are literally plagiarized by note which I've never heard of, that would just be a cover band lol Come to think of it I think nirvana's come as you are was a rip off killing joke, so many songs predating smells like teen spirit sound similar, lots of speedmetal bands were speed up hardcore punk songs, most classic hip hop steals tons of music samples. Nothing new. There's been far too many music genres in the myspace era to the present which are focused on music in earlier music in the rock scene, you end up seeing so many bands just wanting to emulate the 80s,or mix jazz, glam, new wave, punk and funk, for the 1000th time but with another genre and it all turns into people rehashing genres and fusing them, we should have more groundbreaking rock scenes stuff for the decade we are in, in the early 90s people were focusing on grunge and house, it wasn't about reliving the 80s or the past as much as it is today with rock at least. Nothing comes close to the 50 to the 90s, you can sneak in Y2K/early 2000s to some degree. I can't think of anything on the same level of talent, originality and creavity as Led Zeppelin in todays music.

Those who worship the 2010s and treat the decade like a saint are too blind to see your point. They want to twist your words around because they’re offended with the criticism against the 2010s. Definitely. Sampling has always been around in hip hop, since the genre’s creation or birth. I see sampling and copying as 2 different things. Sampling takes creativity as the artist has to adjust the pitch, tone, volume, add and or remove instruments or sounds, etc. Copying is just reusing the original song without any changes. Maybe I’m wrong. I’ve noticed what you’re saying a lot with the rock music coming out from sometime in the 2000s to today.

A lot of great musicians/artists throughout time do steal or sometimes barely change, but usually it’s a bit different which is a difference and it’s not the vast majority of their work, their overall work is what matters. Subtle differences if it’s very similar or almost/ or is a rip off makes a difference and how they rework other influence into their own song matters.
