In terms of personal life it feels very dated since so much has changed for me but as for everything else, I find it hard to believe that was actually 5 years ago. Sometimes i'll watch a show and realise the season I watch came out in 2017 and i'm like WTF. 2012 felt much more distant back in 2017. Just let this sink in guys. Despacito is almost 5 years old. Trump was inaugurated 5 years ago. The switch came out 5 years ago. Gucci Gang is almost 5 years old. This released almost 5 years ago:  Crazy, right?

Compare to 2012 vs 2007, 2007 felt like a decade old year back in 2012 to me and the differences are blatant
Also compare it to 2012 vs 2017, 2012 did feel very distant by 2017

True, even 2013 felt dated by 2015 and that's only 2 years 2014 on feels way less dated

That was also the root of the political division that led to trumps election and still persists to this day.
