I'd pick 2009. Majority of the world was in a huge recession, and most movies (mainly the blockbusters like Avatar), music, and video games just felt all gimmicky and/or not as special to me. High-profile celebrity deaths like Michael Jackson, Brittany Murphy, and Patrick Swayze also kinda soured the year for me as well. Finally, someone gets it. 2009 SUCKED for video games and music. It wasn't horrible for movies like 2011 was, but still worse than most 2000s years. don't forget the horrible 3D TV trend
