I don't understand why some people are so daunted by carparks. Is it really that hard to drive along and then pull into a spot? I quite often get stuck behind people who only do about 5-10 km/h (1-2 m/s) in car parks and it's incredibly frustrating, especially when you know where you want to go and quickly pick something up. If you drive into a car park, shouldn't you already have an idea on where you want to go? What has your experience with car parks been like? Do you often get stuck behind slow drivers as well?

Do you guys go 50 at the parking lot too? Was it 5 km/h at an empty parking lot?

Your supposed to drive at a slow speed in carparks But not to the point where someone crawling on their knees could travel at a faster speed. Do you guys go 50 at the parking lot too? Was it 5 km/h at an empty parking lot? I'm not sure if it varies from state to state (probably not, but anyway), but here in New South Wales, the maximum speed limit in car parks can vary from 5 km/h - 40 km/h (depending on the condition of the car park). Plenty of people don't follow the speed limits in car parks though and simply go at their own pace.

I was at the mall the other week and I don't drive too often so im still practicing really. Anyways so I pulled into a park and realised it wasn't the best park I had done so I went to re-align my car but then the guy who was parked next to me was returning to his car from the mall and so I waited for him to reverse out. But then the guy started verbally abusing me saying I shouldn't be allowed on the road, so I just flipped him off and he left. But I just thought it was pretty funny cause his car was half the size of mine so I wasn't sure why he cared so much.

Since you were re-aligning your car, he might have thought that you were going to hit his car or run him over as he was walking back to his car, lol. It sounds like it was a complete over-reaction though.
