Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (2010)
Very early 2010s millennial vibe
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (2012)
It takes place in 1992 but the characters are pretty much hipsters just like the ones irl at that time in 2012. It seems like it could still take place in 2012 more than 1992 anyway. And the trailer is very 10s
The Fault In Our Stars (2014)
The blueprint for typical 2010s millennial romance movies
GBF (2014)
This is just such a painfully 2010s movie. It’s the “Mean Girls” of the 2010s with tons of stereotypical 10s songs and I wish it got more recognition lol. Also lgbt centered media gained massive popularity in the 10s and movies like this shows it
Get Out (2017)
The 2010s saw an increase in black creators and their stories being told on the big screen and this was one of the biggest/best examples. More people began to discuss racism more during the 10s and this movie caused some conversation
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Idk if this still qualifies as a “young adult” movie but this is an obvious one. It’s the culmination of everything the MCU was building up to throughout the entire 2010s decade and this movie coming out at the end of the decade makes it perfect

Never got that vibe from that movie anyways.

The 2000s weren’t that far removed when this movie came out They refer to Amazon as if it was a brand new service. Scott is said to have been born in 1980 and he is around 23-25 in the series so it takes place in the early 00s

So even when I watched it long time ago it never felt like it was a different time period, the same goes for most of the Harry Potter films tbh

Wasn’t that Scott Pilgrim movie filmed in 2009? Watching that movie, it felt like the 2000s and incoming 2010s looks clashing together.

It's a movie about a black superhero and black culture, and there's a Vine meme in the movie.

The blueprint for typical 2010s millennial romance movies More like Zillenial you mean? This movie was mostly popular with teens at the time, and that period was the Y-to-Z transition period generation-wise.
