I'd say early 10s since it's another meme song like Gangnam Style and Harlem Shake shortly before it and since it is electropop.
Also I can't believe this is almost 9 years old. WTF. Where does the time go?

Instrumental: mid 10s
Lyrics: early 10s
You people need to understand that just because a song has loud eletronic synthetizers that doesn't instantly make it an early 10s song. There's an obvious different between edm songs from 2010-2012 and EDM songs from 2014-2016, 2013 was the year these two waves of EDM met.

EDM is electronic music accompanied by some vocals. Electropop is basically a pop song(has the structure of one) which uses EDM effects as an instrument or backing. So this song is electropop which is what puts it in the early 10s camp imo.

So i guess by that definition "Closer" by the Chainsmokers and "Starships" by nicki minaj are electropop songs for you >EDM is eletronic music accompanied by some vocals Wtf. EDM stands for "eletronic dance music" there's nothing in there about vocal-synth balance. Electropop, by ALL DEFINITIONS, is a sub-genre of EDM. You can hear in WDTFS there's a mix of early 10s edm and mid 10s edm. I'd say it's mostly early 10s because of the cheese factor but some of instrumentals remind me of EDM songs from 2014-2015 I mean, you had "#Selfie" by the Chainsmokers becoming a hit only a few months after WDTFS and that song is undeniably mid 10s but it shares some instrumental similarities with WDTFS
