what are some songs from 2018 & 2019 that you guys think would blend in 2021-22(it’s only january so i can’t say just 2022). i feel like at this point the early 20s music is identifiable
here are some of mine:
this reminds me of songs like Peaches by justin bieber and telepatía by kali uchis and its slow synths also make it fit today
another early 20s sounding post malone song. maybe he was a bit ahead of his time. this could definitely fit today
this can definitely fit in today. this blackbear style of music is seen in songs like abcdefu by gayle, mood by 24kgolden, and roxanne. it sounds very tiktokish
this is still overall a 2010s song but the guitar sample, melodic rapping, and softer trap beats could fit today. it’s still too melancholic and slow for 2022 tho and the soundcloud production wouldn’t fit
i could see this being a hit on the charts in 2021. it kinda goes with some of the throwback pop of today like kiss me more by doja cat, cold heart (pnau remix) by elton john and dua lipa, and better day by neiked
another song that could fit in with the throwback pop of today and has that kinda bouncy flow

Sounds more 2021-ish than 2018-ish. Similar vibes to "Lemonade".

not Old Town Road, it leans more 2017 than 2021 IMO. "Panini" yes.

I'm a big rap fan so I can notice the production. It just doesn't seem that way to be. When I think of late 10s raps, trap, distorted 808s and mumble rap comes to mind. This track has trap but that's pretty much it when it comes to similarities with the late 10s. There's also the fact that it's half country and it just has a general slower and more upbeat vibe than other late 10s songs. Lil Nas X being culturally early 20s does matter because his vocals are used for the song which are associated mainly with the early 20s.

I think we're definitely over the sadboy SoundCloud era at this point. So songs like "Lucid Dreams" don't really fit in at this point.

I think we're definitely over the sadboy SoundCloud era at this point. So songs like "Lucid Dreams" don't really fit in at this point. basically it evolved into melodic rap which sounds similar (but updated), but talks about different topics. Lucid Dreams set the sound for melodic rap but it still sounds more like 2018 than 2021.
