Do any of you guys remember when Dubstep was popular? Like in the time where in a lot of movie trailers dubstep was in the background, people like Skrillix was popular, it was at the time the genre that people either loved or hated it at the time by saying if it was real music or not. It felt like it's peak years of popularity were in the very late 00s and early 2010s, I remembered a lot of people around my age getting into it, but it doesn't seem like its as popular anymore, especially by the younger people, even genres like house music and artists like Deadmau5 were more known then now. To me it felt more like a time when raves and EDM music was more bouncy and had more energy then some of the EDM now.
I use to have a huge phase of being into it back in middle school, I even bought two CD's of the genre. I still like it now but I rarely listen to it anymore, did anyone else go through this phase? Or are you still into it now?
Here was my middle shcool soundtrack XD

I remember it being popular between 2010-2012. To be honest, I was never a fan of it, because i'm not into that type of music. I agree that it seemed to appeal to Mid-Late '90s borns.

I actually listened to Dubstep in the early 2010's. I remember when it was popular. Here are some I've listened to.
2012 IMO was probably the best year for Dubstep. I personally think dubstep was at it's highest peak in 2012.

These are some quality jams right here also, it's funny how by 2014 I remember a freshmen the same age as me saying how dubstep is so old when she heard some guy listening to it. Like 2014 was when I guess it started to feel dated a bit.

I miss the dubstep era. Dubstep was at its peak from 2010-2012. Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, Knife Party, Krewella, Diplo, and deadmau5 are all dubstep artists I remember being popular

Deadmau5 isn't a 'dubstep artist' is he? “Raise your weapon” has a dubstep presence to it. It was popular in 2009-10. That's not dubstep, that is dance/electronic. Deadmau5 is an electronic music artist. None of his songs are dubstep.
