In the early-mid 2010s, this type of humor was EVERYWHERE in pop culture, especially internet and kid culture. Nyan Cat, Minions, shows like Teen Titans Go, Uncle Grandpa, and Breadwinners, Annoying Orange, let’s players, etc. This really started to become a thing in 2008-2009, and seemed to peak in 2014-2015. However, it’s no longer popular, as tastes have moved to edgier and more ironic types of humor. I’m not referring to absurdist humor in general, since it’s still popular among young people, but it’s much more self aware and less based in word salad and nonsense, and more based in irony, politics, and depression. So, when did this type of humor die down?

2013, c'mon 2016 is way too late
I do not remember that kind humor being relevant in 2014, let alone 2016

When I think of this type of humor I usually think of like 2007-2013.
