Every other year of the 2010s had a mix of bad music with some good music, the ratio varied. But in 2018 it was all bad music. There was no redemption. I would say the same for 2019, if it wasn't for Post Malone and The Weeknd to save mainstream music in late 2019. Since late 2019, mainstream music has become a lot more tolerable.

2018 was a great year for music, and you can't change my mind on this.
Completely blows both 2016 and 2017 out of the water.

I think 2010s music was either hit or miss. I think you had many terrible songs, but every once in a while a song would be okay, or even good. I do enjoy plenty of 2010s songs, but not as much as years previous to the 2010s. 2018 I thought was the worst out of 2010s years for music, besides 2015. For example "This is America" by Childish Gargano I thought sounded like a really shitty song from the first time I heard it, so I never understood the popularity of it. I guess it was more the messaging behind the song than the song itself is what a lot tell me, but I tend to listen to music for their sound.
